Competition 2022 updates and notes – TECCOM 02-27-22
Communication TECCOM 02/27/22
1- The calendar is still not final
After registrations we immediately published a calendar, thereby stating that it was not final. This is to enable teams to create their schedule and request specific adjustments. Meanwhile, several clubs have announced that their fields will be unavailable on different dates, which has forced us to make some adjustments.
Please note that the Excel files are not updated daily and therefore do not contain the latest adjustments!
For a correct and updated situation, please always refer to the official website at https://belgiumbaseballsoftball.leaguerepublic.com/index.html
2- Teams admin update
Clubs will receive an email with a document to update the list of Teams Administrators in League Republic for the 2022 season.
Please note: This information is essential for coding scores throughout the season and to be notified of any changes as the calendar is finalized.
3- Federation Cup @ Brasschaat (20-25/06)
After the Federations Cup 2021 was reduced to 3 teams due to Covid and thanks to their good management, Brasschaat Braves was given the honor of organizing the Federations Cup at home in 2022. In order to support them, we have decided to postpone the matches scheduled for 25/06, the day of the final. We hope that Belgian clubs and players will make the journey to Brasschaat then for the only European competition to be hosted on our territory this year.
4- Softball T/NT + SLD3
As you know, the T/NT rule has been changed for the Women’s Softball division this year. However, the program that allows us to encode the licenses does not allow us to display this customization automatically at the moment. We are aware of this and will correct this in the coming weeks.
We also want to remind you of rule 7.2. of our sporting regulations regarding the gender of players. In SLD3 mixed play is allowed for women and boys with the maximum limitation of 3 boys at a time from 12 to 15 years old.
5- Withdrawal of Deurne Spartans B2 from the competition
Unfortunately, Deurne Spartans communicated to us on 24/02 that they could not draft a 2nd team this year. The calendar has therefore been adjusted and the BD3-A division is played with 5 teams.
6- Scorers 2022 – Home Scorers D1
For the 2022 season, all Division 1 (Baseball, Women’s Softball and Men’s Softball) and the Belgian Series will be scored using the MyWBSC system tested in 2021. In Division 2 we will also organize electronic scoring for the top 6, after the first round (BD2-Promotie). If the final tests are convincing and satisfactory, we hope that electronic scoring can be used in all divisions by 2023.
We are already inviting all members to participate in a workshop on how to use the system on 24/03/22. More information about this will be communicated to you shortly.
In order to reduce costs for D1 clubs, we want to give them the opportunity to use Home Scorers during their home games. These Home Scorers must be trained in the MyWBSC system and must be cleared by the CUS to be nominated by their own club.
To best prepare the designations, we ask D1 clubs to clearly indicate on the “Teams Administrators”-form whether they want the CUS to designate federal scorers for their home games or use home scorers.
Thanks for your help.
We remain at your disposal for further information by email.
