The 2021 European Baseball Championship in the senior A-poule will be held in Italy from Sunday 12 to Sunday 19 September.
The Red Hawks rejuvenated their 23 players selection and together with 7 coaches left for Italy with the ambition to at least making it to the top 8; to eventually finish as high as possible in a tough European Championship.
In this tournament, 16 countries will compete for the European Championship.
Belgium wil start in Group A along with vice-European champions Italy, Austria and Greece.
After one round, the numbers 1 and 2 of each group will advance to the top eight. So we’ll need wins against Austria and Greece in the first round. In 2021, the Red Hawks will be under the leadership of Filip Van Der Meiren, who, after the departure of Sven Hendrickx, is ready for his trial year as head coach.
The Red Hawks will start the tournament against Austria early on Sunday 12th of September. The game starts at 11:00 AM at Avigliana baseball stadium. All games can be followed live via the online channels of WBSC Europe or via their Live Scoring platform.
