Benjamin Dille retires from Red Hawks

The Red Hawks have honored and said goodbye to Benjamin Dille at the European Championships in Italy.

On Saturday, September 18 2021, Belgium’s game against Croatia was briefly stopped in honor of Benjamin Dille’s retirement from international baseball as a Red Hawk.
After one last at bat, Dille was replaced as outfielder in the bottom of the first inning and received a big round of applause from the team, the crowd and opponents on his way to the dug out. Dille was a continuous member of the Belgian squad for 18 years – dating from a time when the name Red Hawks did not yet exist – and is a widely respected player.

Benjamin Dille will still play baseball in the Nederlandse Hoofdklasse this year with his team Curaçao Neptunus from Rotterdam, which will compete in October in the Holland Series for the Dutch Championship.
A big thanks to Benjamin!
